Sophy Tayler
Trustee
Sophy brings a lifelong interest in music and a deep commitment to community engagement to her role at Hambledon Music. Fascinated by the piano since early childhood, she developed her musical sensibility through singing at St Paul’s Girls’ School, where the English choral tradition—especially the works of Gustav Holst and Herbert Howells—left a lasting impression.
Professionally, Sophy brings skills in project and programme management, with experience spanning community and voluntary groups as well as Public Sector IT. Her approach is rooted in inclusivity and legacy. For example, she was part of the group that raised funds for and co-delivered the award-winning children’s playground and water park in Myatt’s Fields Park in Camberwell, South London. Working with other groups, she has a vision for developing neighbourhood identity in her home area, which continues to evolve as new projects build on this programmatic approach.
As a Trustee, Sophy is excited to support Hambledon Music’s mission, helping to steward its growth as it finds its place on the classical music scene.
